Overview

Management Development, one of the pioneer and ancient research journal of Bangladesh aims at exploring the research potentials of the scholars. Management Development utilizes a double blind reviewing process for all

Research papers and/or articles.

1. Management Development welcomes contribution on important areas of socio-economic and industrial development of developing countries and in particular to the problems faced by executives related to industrial management and human resource development of Bangladesh. Manuscript of research articles, research notes, reviews to be written in English only – should be sent in triplicate to the Senior Editor, Bangladesh Institute of Management, 4 Sobhanbag, Mirpur Road, Dhaka – 1207, Bangladesh.
2. Articles should be accompanied by a statement that these have not already been published, and that, if accepted for publication in the Management Development, they will not be submitted for publication elsewhere without the prior consent of the Senior Editor.
3. As far as possible all articles and notes should be organized into the following sections: (i) Introduction, (ii) Hypothesis, (iii) Methodological issues involved, (iv) Results, (v) Limitations of Analysis, (vi) Policy implications and (vii) Conclusions. Sub-section should carry clear and distinct sub-headings.
4. The first page of the contribution should contain the title of the paper, the name(s) of the author(s), and a footnote giving the current affiliation of the author(s) and any acknowledgments. Each major article should carry a short abstract containing no more than 100 words.
5. Each contribution should be types double-spaced (except for footnotes and verbatim inset quotations) on one side of quarto sheets, and should carry a margin of an inch and a half on the left side of the typed page and at least an inch on each of the remaining three sides.
6. Each author will receive two complimentary copies of Management Development and 3 off prints.
7. Works cited in the text should read thus: (Khan, 1992: 63-4); Bhuiyan (1989, 1993). For groups of citations, order alphabetically and not chronologically, using a semi-colon to separate names: (Khan, 1992; Gadgil and Guha, 1994; Khan, 1989).  Use ‘et al.’ when citing a work by more than two authors, but list all the authors in the References. To distinguish different works by the same author in the same year, use the letters a, b, c, etc., e.g. Khan (1993a, 1993b). For multi-author works, invert the name of the first author only (Rahman, M. and R. Guha). Use (ed.) for one editor but (eds) for multiple editors. When listing two or more works by one author, repeat the author name for each entry. Indicate (opening and closing) page number for article in journals and chapters in books. Arrange references using following style:

Books: Brown. R.C.P. (1992), Public Debt and Private Wealth. Debt, Capital Flight and the IMF in Sudan. London and Basingstoke: Macmillan.

In the 31th year of its publication, “Management Development” has always solicited articles on contemporary issues in the field of socio-economic, business management, human resource development etc. While articles that are based on empirical studies are preferred, articles on innovative and creative approaches to business, socio-economics, management, human resource development are always welcome.
